III|The Story

The Story.

Why this brand exists. Told in her own voice.

A letter, not a bio. The painting comes first; the garment is built around it. The first collection is Palestine — a cultural story worn, not spoken.

Mood collage by Rhea Qeblawi — kufiyeh, olive branches, Palestinian calligraphy and the Dome of the Rock postage stamp.
Origin|A life in paint

Origin.

I have been painting since I was nine years old.

I start with a painting. A real one, made by hand, rooted in something specific. The garment is built around it, not inspired by it — built around it.

The piece exists once, or in very small numbers. It is signed. It carries a story that belongs to me, and to the person who wears it.

The first collection is Palestine — a cultural story worn, not spoken. The next will be equally deliberate.

The belief|Five things I won't compromise on

Not fashion that references art. Fashion that is art.

01

The art comes first

Every piece starts as a painting. Not a sketch, not a mood board — an original work of art. The garment comes after. That order matters and it is not something I will ever reverse.

02

Nothing is made twice

Some pieces exist once. Others in very small numbers. I am not interested in scale for its own sake. If something is everywhere, it stops meaning anything.

03

Every collection has one subject

I do not do seasons. I do not do themes. Each collection has one real subject — something specific, something I know, something worth saying.

04

The heritage is real

This is not cultural inspiration borrowed from somewhere. It is mine. I grew up with it, I carry it, I paint from inside it. That is the difference between wearing a culture and selling one.

05

This sits between two worlds

Atelier Qeblawi is not quite a fashion house and not quite an art practice. It lives in the space between. That is not a compromise — that is the whole point.

The difference is origin.
